Ellis House FriendsFriends of Ellis House are participating artists and associates who support the development of Ellis House as a Community Art Centre. The City of Bayswater has provided this beautifully refurbished old home and surroundings for us to use, exhibit artworks and keep open for visitors to view the house and gardens. An Invitation to all Artists Ellis House invites artists, both beginners and the more experienced, to come and paint, draw or do their craft in these pleasant surroundings and mix with other artists, exchanging ideas and information. You are welcome to join in any time during opening hours. Ellis House continuously shows exhibitions of main local artwork with a new exhibition every three weeks. There are generally several “Friends” exhibitions each year, one of which has a theme.¬†Artists can exhibit their work in solo or joint exhibitions and enter Friends exhibitions. Ellis House FriendsWe are open Thursday and Friday from 10am – 4pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am – 5pm and all who help out, do so on a voluntary basis.

Volunteers Keep us Going

We rely on volunteers from the Friends of Ellis House to keep the centre open Thursday to Sunday by spending some pleasant time painting in the gardens and on the verandahs or just greeting visitors, answering simple questions and generally being a welcoming presence.
